This is a picture of my pendant that I made with Mr Grundy at hard materials tech, at Tamaki College. The metal we used was pewter because it stays shiny and doesn't rust like some other metals do. My pendant is a heart and it is for my mum.
I am a year 7 student at Ruapotaka school in Auckland, New Zealand. I am in room 11 and my teacher is Mr Reid.

Mobile Phones Allowed On Aeroplanes
From today onwards Qantas and Virgin airlines are allowing passengers to use their mobile phones and other mobile devices on the planes. At this stage we do not know if Air New Zealand planes will do the same thing.
I think this is a good idea because I would be able to use my phone on the plane. I can not wait until the Air New Zealand planes announce that they are going to doing the same thing.

Earthquake Hits California
A magnitude 6 earthquake has hit Northern California. It struck at 3.20am on Sunday morning. Now there are 87 people in the hospital. It was the biggest quake since 1989.
This is devastating and sad because 87 people are in hospital. I hope that all of those people are OK!

Unhappy Nutella Lovers
The bad news for nutella lovers is that prices have increased by more than 60 per cent. This is because of heavy hailstorms and frosts that hit in late March.
I think that this is bad because I am one of those nutella lovers and I think those who love nutella as well are very unhappy.

Bee Numbers Dropping
In the UK over the past 80 years the number of bees have dropped and scientists have said that is it the cause of the environment changing.
I think it is not good that 2 species of bees have become extinct because the bees are a big part of our environment. It would be sad if all of the bees became extinct.

Monkey Selfie Causes Uproar
A monkey selfie has caused a confusion on the internet following a debate over who owns the image. A photographer named David Slater was taking photos of monkey’s when one of them grabbed the camera and took a selfie of itself. Now this selfie has become famous with a number of people using the image without paying for it. They say that because the monkey took the photo no human owns the copyright. Normally professional photographers charge people for using snaps they've taken because they own something called a copyright. Therefore, he doesn't own them. As you can imagine Slater is very angry and wants the site to take the image down.

My Drawing Of The National Symbol of Pakistan
The national symbol I chose to draw was the Pakistan's national symbol. I chose it because it is easy to draw and also that the moon and star looks cool. This is probably my favourite national symbol.
